Keppel launches Keppel South Central in the heart of Singapore’s CBD

Slated for completion in 4Q 2024, the 33-storey Keppel South Central will be a next-generation smart, super low energy building with 24/7 facilities  

Keppel Corporation is pleased to announce that it has launched Keppel South Central, an all-new 33-storey commercial tower at the former site of Keppel Towers. Strategically located in Tanjong Pagar, in the heart of the central business district and within the Greater Southern Waterfront, Keppel South Central will offer about 650,000 sf of technology-forward spaces – comprising Grade A offices, flexible workspaces, retail and event spaces as well as a diverse range of indoor and outdoor amenities, including a social kitchen.   

Slated to be completed in 4Q 2024, Keppel South Central is located along Hoe Chiang Road and will be a short walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT station and the upcoming Prince Edward Road MRT station, which is set to open on the Circle Line in 2026.

Designed for the talents of tomorrow

Designed by global architecture and design firm NBBJ, Keppel South Central is set to become an iconic building of Singapore that successfully marries distinctive architectural elements with energy-efficient design features. It is designed as a vertical park, with workspaces built in, and will feature a mix of alternative workspaces and amenities that seamlessly connect indoor and outdoor spaces. 

Tenants will be able to enjoy a wide range of food and beverage offerings within the development, including a double-storey rooftop restaurant and bar. There will also be over 60,000 sf of shared amenities dedicated to collaboration, social activities, health and wellness, as well as for family and even pets. These include an indoor gymnasium, outdoor fitness decks, a swimming pool, sleeping rooms, nursing rooms, event spaces and facilities for learning. 

To ensure round-the-clock efficiency, the building will be 5G enabled and fitted with leading-edge technologies, including facial recognition access, as well as smart lighting and micro-zoned air conditioning systems in designated areas that cater for 24/7 business operations. This will allow tenants the flexibility of managing their working hours to suit their lifestyles. Tenants will also be able to book amenities via an all-in-one integrated application which can also be used for visitor management.  

A leading green icon

Keppel South Central is a recipient of the BCA Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy Award for its myriad innovative and green features. They include a high-performance facade system that will significantly reduce the amount of solar heat gain in the building, smart building management systems, rainwater harvesting systems, as well as the use of renewable energy. 

When completed, Keppel South Central’s annual energy consumption, or EUI, is expected to be 110 kWh/m2 per year. This translates to energy savings of over 40% or about 6.2 million kWh a year compared to a code-compliant building and is equivalent to the amount of energy required to power about 1,300 homes[1] in Singapore for one year. This also translates to cost savings of approximately $1.8 million[2] annually. Annual water savings is expected to be at about 26,000 m3, the amount required to fill 10 Olympic-sized swimming pools.
