Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS), a subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has been conferred the title of "Largest manufacturer of offshore rigs - current" by Guinness World Records (Guinness) for delivering 21 offshore rigs to its customers in 2013.

Guinness has defined ‘largest manufacturer' as the company which has delivered the most number of offshore rigs in a year.

The official record was awarded by Guinness after it completed a thorough assessment of supporting documentation provided by Keppel FELS.

The documentation included a report by Deloitte & Touche LLP that Keppel FELS successfully delivered 21 rigs in 2013.

Keppel FELS also provided verification from the market intelligence firm IHS Petrodata that 21 is the most number of offshore rigs by a single company in a year. In addition, IHS Petrodata compared the deliveries of the top 10 rigbuilders in 2013.

Mr Wong Kok Seng, Managing Director (Offshore), Keppel O&M and Managing Director, Keppel FELS, said, "For this achievement to have been possible, all aspects of our business had to be in good order. All our departments - marketing, engineering, procurement, logistics, planning, project management, production, operations, among others - had to be fighting fit and punching above their weight."
